Oakland Gyros in Milwaukee

We live out of town and have to stop here when we are IN town! Love the size and sauce of the gyros!

My go to place for Pepper Steak and Greek Salad! Their seating is definitely decent, unless it's really crowded. Great size portions, and most people will end up taking some food home. A lot of people take their food out. They also have great malts. It does bring a college crowd and a lot of drinkers. But you can take it to go.UPDATE 1-16-19: Wow! I see that this review and photos got me more than 1,000 views. So, with that, Oakland Gyro, may I have a complementary meal?

The Athenian chicken is amazing. It's tender juicy and flavorful. Their gyros are pretty top notch too. A second pita is almost a necessity, which isn't a bad thing. The staff there is friendly, it's clean, it's quiet. It's a regular stop for me

Always a worthwhile experience to visit. Owner was present on several visits. Great mom and pop feel. Food is well proportioned and seasoned. Great place and fast service. Ordered the Gyro platter

They are open late. Went for a late dinner with the bae. Ordered a Gyro platter with the rice and gravy. Very good. I love the gyros from there. They had nice traditional music playing in the background. Excellent service. P.S. the custard was good. I also ordered an ice cream cone. 😁

No matter if I order take out or not the food is always fresh, the service is always fast and staff are always friendly! The prices are reasonable and so is the food amount. They also have the best fries! My number one spot for gyros in Milwaukee!

We love this place. Their rice is amazing. Their lamb shank is the best in town and best deal. Love their gyro meat. Athenian chicken is good too. Sooo much food. Super quick service. This place has been around for as long as I can remember. It is on our weekly local places to eat.

This place is great and delicious. Definitely recommend the cheese steak with everything. The rice is also very delicious with its gravy. Almost everything is made fresh. Friendly staff helping you out as well.

I grew up on Oakland Gyros and I moved from the area a few years ago. Of all of the reasons I miss MKE, you Oakland Gyros are one of them! Thank you for the great food and the memories:)

This is ALWAYS a go-to place. The service is fast, the food is great, and the staff is courteous. Their gyros are the best!

The owner has that place running fast, and making sure all customers satisfied, i would like to thank him for that, because remaining calm from a lot of people in line and how to make sure everything isnt easy, but if you do everything to make a successful restaurant happen it's worth it.

Best Gyro and eggplant strips I have ever tasted.

Always great food and excellent service, my boyfriend took me here over 20yrs ago and i have found no other place better, great prices, amazing amount and quality of food (gyro platter is easily 3 meals for me). Fish, Calamari, Dolamades, Gyros, Rice, Salad, Spinach Pie, Athenian Chicken, tried them all and i have NEVER been disappointed!! Dine in or take out, always great quality!! They must take good care of their staff too because it has pretty much been the same crew for the 20yrs i have been going. Son just spent over a year in the middle east serving, he said he has been craving Oakland Gyros - this is his number one place to hit now that he is back home!!! (he may just eat himself into a Food Coma!!! lol )

This place always makes the best gyros, spinach pie, and Athenian chicken. Always hot, always fast, authentic, good portion size. My favorite Greek place in the city.

Simply said, best place for gyros! Every time I go to Milwaukee I try to stop at OGs. There is a reason why they are constantly voted the best....cause they are. If you like gyros, you have to give this place a try. They load it up with meat. I always get a 2nd pita cause you can easily make two gyros with the amount of meat that you are given. Highly recommend to any fan of gyros.

What can you say about this Milwaukee icon. I've been enjoying Chicken & gyros and spinach pie and moussaka from this place for 30 years. Good salad , good French fries. You will burn your mouth on the deep fried mushrooms.

Service here is always fast. It's a Milwaukee staple especially if you want late night food after drinking. Although it's not anything crazy you do get generous portions. Gyro platter or kebobs always come out quick and the taziki(?) sauce is on point. It can get a little obnoxious there cuz it's one of the few spots open late night, but you definitely get the bang for your buck. If you haven't been, check it out, however not my favorite in terms of quality in the city

Look at this frozen burger ugh what a waste of money. Go to Wendy’s instead you’ll get a free drink and a better burger! They also gave me some cold and old French fries, seriously this is the second occurrence with bad fries. I believe their quality of food is going down and I’m very disappointed about it! Anyhoo don’t get their burgers try something else it was like $4.50 and $2.30 for bad, old, cold fries! 🤬 😡

Always, always, always fresh and filling!! The people are so friendly and the food is amazing! I'm NEVER disappointed!! Plus you get a ton of food for the price. You get more food I feel if you done in than you do with carry out. But either way still always a lot of food. Atmosphere is also amazing. Always clean too!! Even when they are swamped the guys are always on top of it and makes sure everything comes out with perfection!!!

Great food, serving sizes are large, always a wonderful cross section of Milwaukee patrons in the place. I have gone there for 25 years and never been let down.

Great night eats, I'd even go during the day. Food is always made to order so it's nice. My favorite meal as of late has been their pepper steak. I recommend this place anytime.

Good food. I would give it 5 stars but they forgot to put napkins in the bag. Napkins are important especially when in the car. Please remember to put some for orders to go. Thanks

Still open. Quality hasn't diminished during the pandemic. Still kinda pricey too, but you get a lot for the money and it's good. Loses a star because there is still no parking near the restaurant and the meters are a mix of updated ones with the app/card and old ones only taking change.

Great place to eat, especially late night. You get a rowdy college crowd at night but the food is good. A staple of Milwaukee food.

I don’t what it is you guys are selling but it is definitely not a gyro, and that sauce is not white sauce. Taste more like ranch.

I would give this place 10 stars if I could. Hands down one of the best food places I have gone to during my 4 year stay in Milwaukee. Its a little hole in the wall but it serves INCREDIBLE food, fantastic service, and a must try when in town. They are open late and are on delivery sites. Gyros come piled high with meat and the flavor is one you crave for months and months until you just decide to take on the 2 hour drive there to get it. Everytime we are in town we try our best to come eat here. I always reccomend it to everyone.

I was passing by and thought to stop here for lunch because of high rate. I must say I didnt regret this choice. Staff was friendly and communication was great, everything well organized. The place was clean and cozy with privacy. Ordered a gyros with fries and drink. I'm not a big fan of these fries but gyros was outstanding, so much meat and so delicious. Ive had gyros often but this was one of the best I had. I was so filled that there was no room for fries. Price was fair, it was worth every penny. Highly recommended.
